When I worked at Waldenbooks years ago, I was tested by one. They rate you on how quickly they are acknowledged/greeted when they enter the store, the employee's manners, and helpfulness. Did you walk them to the section they sought? Did you put the (book) they were looking for in your hands? Offer to order it if it wasn't in stock and offer other titles that may be of interest? Were they given their receipt and thanked? I was rated 99 out of 100 possible points. Working at a small bookstore was fun in those days. Mystery shoppers are not security. They don't wander around and see if customers and employees steal.
